
This 8 days walking program is in two different sections of the Carian Trail.
The tour starts in Selimiye on the Bozburun Peninsula, then follows some tracks on the Gulf of Gökova and ends in picturesque Dalyan.

Daily Program
Transfer (2,5 hrs) from Dalaman airport to a seaside hotel in Selimiye, apeaceful coastal village in a picturesque setting.
Overnight: Family – run guesthouse. Rooms in a big lush garden, near the beach.(BB)
Bayır to Taşlıca
Morning transfer (15 mins) to Bayır village. Take a look at the 2500 years old mosque and drink a tea at the square near the monumental plane tree before you set off for a walk on a stony path with nice views to Taşlıca.
Walk: 18 km/ 7 hrs/ + 700m/- 700 m
Shorter option:
( İsteric) Bahçeli- Taşlıca : 6 km /2- 3hrs/ + 185 m/ – 18 m

Taşlıca- Kırk kuyular -Phoenix – Serçe liman.
Follow the stony track on the Loryma Peninusula to Phoenix or Foinix (in Greek)
a settlement dating from the Hellenistic period and once owned by Rhodes .
It was a large rural community scattered over a large territory. In the middle was a meeting place, the Acropolis on a hill. Among the remains are parts of a citadel- hellinistic fortifications- and a Byzanthine church. Take a rest at idyllic Serçe liman before the transfer to small, charming Bozburun facing Greek Simi (Sömbeki) island. Try the appetizers and fresh seafood in one of the harbour restaurants.

Transfer to Akyaka.
Located North of Marmaris, Akyaka is a village at the head of the Gulf of Gökova.
The beach resort is surrounded by pine- and eucalyptus trees.
The cold Azmak river flows down through fields to the seafront. Here are a small beach and restaurants.
Wander around and explore the rocktombs and castle of İdyma, the name of Akyaka in antiquity or take a boat trip on the clear cold river.

Akyaka to Turnalı.
Hike on a mix of dirt roads and forest paths with some old remains and views on the coast.Take a dip in the sea at the end of your walk at Akbük beach.
Walk: 14 km/ 6 hrs / + 350 m/ – 350 m
Overnight: Akbük beach. Wooden bungalows .(BB))
Akbük to Alatepe and Ören.
The highligts of today are the spectecular views and descent down to Ören. From Akbük you follow the main track up the hillside past the domed cistern; views open over the coast. Hardly anything remains from the ruins of ‘ Ceramos’ in Ören. The old city flourished from the 6 th century BCE and in later times was one of the many bishopics of Aphrodisias. The small town is spread out over the plain and is a popular holidays resort with Turkish people during the summer months . Transfer back to Akbük .
Walk 16,4 km /6 hrs/+ 612 m/- 600 m
Overnight: Akbük . Wooden cabins.(BB)
Transfer to Dalyan.
Morning transfer (1,5 hrs) to the guesthouse on the river in Dalyan.
Many things to do and to explore in Dalyan.
Take a classic river boattrip to İztuzu beach, one of the best beaches in Türkiye,
explore the Kaunos ruins or take a trip to the Loggerhead Turtle beach.
Walk to the Sultaniye thermal (mud) baths (11 km) if you still fancy a walk.
Overnight: Dalyan. Riverside guesthouse. (BB)
Onward travel.
The walking tour ends with a transfer to Dalaman airport.( 30 mins)
