The Frig Yolu – Phrygian way is a non- touristic route. At scenic or historically interesting locations, the route is easy to follow as the path is clearly visible. Other sections are can be more overgrown. Sometimes the route follows a valley. In those cases, the direction is clear.
”We’ve experienced a very pleasant trip. Overall it was a beautiful tour, maybe not yet well known, but it can certainly compete with many other top hiking trails in Europe.
We do have some experience and this hike is really well structured. We met many people who did the trip in the reverse direction, but I think your choice is better because: 1) more descent than ascent and 2) better first the mountains and then the sea with the final day arriving at the Gelidonya Lighthouse which is undoubtedly another highlight of the tour. The layout of each day is also good with plenty of opportunities to relax. Arrival and then departure in Çiralı is magical with the flames on arrival and Olympos on departure. Taking a rest day here is also recommended.
The hotels we stayed in were fine; some more basic than others, but overall we were very well received and very much enjoyed our stay.”
