is located on Lake Van, Turkish largest lake, six times the size of Lake Geneva. It is  a vast inland sea trapped by surrounding mountains. These ranges extend all te way to the Iranian and Iraqi borders culminating in the peak of 5.137 metre Ağrı dağı, legendary Mt Ararat. The city of Van was the ancient Urartian capital Tuşpa and the surrounded area is full of Urartian and Armenian remains. We explore parts of this corner of southeast Turkey on this 5 days tour.

Day 1.  Van- Akdamar-Van. 
After arrival in Van, breakfast and departure to Gevaş  for  ferry to Akdamar island to see the spectacular 10 th century Armenian church of the Holy Cross. After lunch on a lakeside restaurant visit to  Tuşpa, the  9-th century Urartu capital and old Van houses. Watch sunset from the castle and continue to hotel in Van for dinner and night.

Day 2. Van-Hizan-Tatvan
Morning visit to Van’s museum and a ride through a breathtaking, remote mountainous area to Hizan where 300-year-old cluster houses made of stone and wood are an architectual beauty.  The day ends in Tatvan on the Lake.

Day 3. Tatvan-Ahlat- Doğubeyazit 
Early departure for visit to the tombs of the Seljuk Kings in Ahlat. Then continue on the north shore of Lake Van, passing charming Adilcevaz towards  Muradiye waterfalls  where we stop  for a teabreak. We then set off to Doğubeyazit for a visit to opulent İshak Paşa sarayı castle  and breathtaking views of MT Ararat. After visit to the Palace and covered market dinner and night in Doğubeyazit.

Day 4. Doğubeyazit- Hoşap castle- Çavuştepe-Van ( 267 km- 4,5 hrs)
After breakfast we set off for Çavuştepe  to see the remains of the first capital of the Urartian Kingdom and Hosap Castle, built in the 16 th century by Mahmudi clan leader Süleyman Bey. The castle is located on the Silk route and a very photogenic landmark. After return in Van time to explore the city on your own.

Day 5. 
After breakfast transfer to Ferit Melen airport for flight.
