Embark on the Trail of the legendary past: TROY

The route is c. 120 km long, starts in Hisarlık village on wide paths through an agricultural area with olive trees and ends in Behram (Assos) where the countryside is hilly and shrubby and the paths narrow. The sea is always close by as are  fascinating historical places and the İlliad.

İtinerary:

DAY 1.Arrival in the village of Tevfikiye where you can visit the beautiful Museum of Troy before heading out tomorrow.
Night: Troia Pension in Tevfikiye (BB)

Day 2. Archaeological site of Troy. Troy to Üvecik (Geyikli)
Especcially for our guests we have arranged a local guide to show them around the 4000-year-old Unesco world heritage site in the morning.Then get your lungs work with a long but easy walk through a plain and mainly agricultural area past old villages and the haunting lodge of Ottoman admiral Hasan Pasha to Üvecik  where you are collected and transferrred ( 15 mins) to Sea Resort Geyikli.

Walk: 20 km (6 hrs) + 59 m /- 91 m/ easy

Day 3. Üvecik to Geyikli ( Tenedos)
Short transfer back to Üvecik for a morning walk between windmills and past olive groves to the archaeological site Hanaytepe höyüğü, a prehistoric settlement in Bozköy village.After arrival and lunch take ferry boat (35 mins)  to captivating Bozcaada for the night.

Day 4. Leukophrys, Tenedos or Bozcaada
Enjoy a day on the beautiful island of Bozcaada, known as Leukophrys in ancient times and Tenedos in Greek Mythology, nowadays Bozcadada enchants visitors with its beaches, historical landmarks and vineyards. The island features charmng cobblestone streets, old stone houses windmills and other nostalgic spots.No visit is complete without savoring the appetizers, freshly caught seafood and local wines .

Day 5. Ferry to Geyikli. Geyikli to Dalyan Antique port
After morning ferry from Bozcaada to Geyikli follow the route towards Alexandria Troas, a very important city during the reign of the Roman emperors Caesar and Constantine.The Ancient port of Dalyan was visited by ST Paul on his second missionary journey and has turned into a lake (kalpli göl) after the sea filled over time.

Day 6.Dalyan to Alexandria Troas to Akçakeçili
Follow the course of the aquaduct to the Attikus baths of Alexandria Troas and then continue on a path between olive trees to the place where the Ilıca river meets the sea . During this part of the walk you can see the Tumulus of the Ancient city of Kolonai. The night is at a Thermal hotel. Already Antigonus, one of the commanders of Alexander the Great and founder of the old city  enjoyed the benefit of the hot water springs and pools here.

Day 7. Alexandria Troas hotel to Akçeli to  Kösedere
Akçakecili and Alemsah are among the oldest and charming villages of Çanakkale
Palamutçu Hüseyin Ağa mansion in Alemsah reflects the glory and originality of the old times. Today’s route which ends at Kösedere has magnificient sea views. After the walk transfer back to Alexandria Troas hotel

Walk: 17 km (5-6 hrs) ( + 293 m/ -189 M)

Day 8. Kösedere to Gülpınar
Following a transfer back to Kösedere continue on a  part of the Roman road. This old Roman road between Alexandria Troas and Apollo Smintheion had great importance in ancient times. During religious ceremonies the public would walk this ceremonial route  from Alexandria TROAS together with sacrificial animals and gifts; the beginning- and end sections of the road have been unearthed during excavations. The Roman bridge was part of the sacred road and is thought to have been built in the 2nd century AD . Today it is left in de midst of fields creating an interesting view.

Walk : 19 km/ (6-7 hrs) + 244 m/- 159 m ( easy)

Day 9. Gülpınar to Kocköy to Bademli to Koyunevi
The temple of Apollon Smintheus in nowadays Gülpınar was an important cult centre in the Ancient times. The first historical association of Apollo with mice was made in the Troas region. The God Apollo ‘ Lord of mice’ punished Kings with the black plaque spread by mice for all the maltreatment against their people and helped restore justice. Following the visit of the temple we continue the route on scientic path through Olive groves , then climb to 300 m above sea level. The views, with the hills on the left and the sea on the right are wonderful. The walk ends at Koyunevi, where you are welcomed in a stone house village hotel.
Night: Charming village hotel.
Walk: 18 km (5-6 hrs) / + 586 m/- 402 m / (easy/ moderate)

Day 10 . (Koyunevi) Bektaş to Koruoba to Assos (Behramkale)
Following a short transfer (6 km ) you  conclude the tour with a beautiful walk through open pastures and along mountain ridges,a very varied route with views of the Aegean Sea and Greek island of Lesbos. Assos sits atop a hill which served as the abode of the renowed philosopher Aristotle and captivates with its distinctive architectural layout, seamlessly blending with the surrounding natural environment. The views from the Acropolis are breathtaking and the harbour with its fishing boats is lively.
Night: Hotel in the ancient harbour.
Walk: 14 km ( 5-6 hrs)  + 166 m/- 410 m/ (moderate-hard)

Day11. End of the tour. Onward travel.
