
This self guided walking program follows the Lycian way from Kayaköy , an upland valley with ruins of an abandoned, originally Greek village to the golden Patara beach and extensive ruins. On this trek the views across the turquoise coast are really amazing. You will stay in small comfortable hotels and a wooden bungalow above Kabak beach.

Itinerary
Day 1: Upon arrival at Dalaman airport transfer to your hotel in Kayaköy ( 65 km/ 1,5 hrs)
Night: Kayaköy, questhouse with comfortable rooms and swimming pool.(HB)
Day 2: Day to explore Kayaköy.
Kayaköy, an upland valley surrounded by forested hills descending steeply to the sea. The valley has been inhabited since ancient times and expanded during the 19th century under de name of ‘Levissi’ with its mainly ‘ Rhum’ , Romeric population.As a result of the independence war the populace of the town were removed and exiled to Greece.The road through the valley descends to Gemiler beach with Saint Nicolas island. A tarmac road leads to a dirtroad and footpath to ‘Afkule monastery ‘on the cliffs above Fethiye Bay.

Day 3: Kayaköy to Ölüdeniz.
Start your day off with a morning walk to the remains of Livissi. This “ghost town” is an abandoned Greek village and a fascinating place to explore. After admiring the basilica, the ruins and stunning views over the sea make your way to the blue lagoon at Ölüdeniz. Transfer to Faralya.
Walk: 7 km/ 2,5 hrs/ + 120/-260 m

Day 4: Ölüdeniz to Faralya.
Following a short transfer to Ovacık ( the official start point of the Lycian way) the walk starts with a climb over the extreme western end of the Baba Dag mountain range. The path rises steeply from just above sea level to the traditional village of Kirme with its sloping terraced fields, where locals harvest olives and keep goats and cattle. From Kirme, head down a deep valley carrying a millstream to Faralya village. Faralya Village lies at the top of the deep valley know as Butterfly Valley and the views down to the beach and the deep indigo sea from here are quite something.
Walk: 14 km/ 5 hrs/275-800 m
Overnight: Faralya.

Day 5: Faralya to Kabak
A nice short easy walk today along the flank of Baba Dagi to Kabak. It is also a day of contrasts with pine trees on your left and views of the glittering sea to the right. In the afternoon, a walk will take you to Kabak beach where you can enjoy wonderful swimming in the warm blue sea.
Walk: 8 km/ 3 hrs/ 350-250 m
Overnight: Kabak (HB)

Day 6: Kabak to Alinca (Transfer to Patara via Xhantos)
Another fabulous day of walking. A steep route this morning follows a beautiful old mule path, which climbs the slopes of Kabak Valley to Alinca. Take in spectacular views over the seven capes. Alinca sits perched on the slopes above sheer cliffs which descend in pink steps to the sea and the views back along the coast to Olu Deniz are beautiful.
Walk: 7 km / 4 hrs/ 250-745 m

Day 7: Delikkemer- Patara
A short transfer will take you to the Roman Delikkemer aquaduct. From here walk back to Patara via the Patara ruins and it’s long sandy beach.The ruins of Patara, which was once the major naval and trading port of Lycia, include a necropolis, basilica, theatre and lighthouse. Return via one of the most beautiful beaches in Turkey to your hotel.

Overnight: Gelemiş village ( BB)
Day 8: Transfer to Dalaman airport.(2 hrs) Onward travel.
